Volunteering here is about how you show up, not how much you do.
This page is for people who want to be involved in community work without burning out, rescuing, or unintentionally causing harm.
Volunteers are supported to practise presence, boundaries, and shared responsibility. We focus on relational skills — listening, pacing, consent, and working alongside people rather than managing them.
You don’t need to be confident.
You don’t need to be an expert.
You do need to be willing to learn and reflect.
What volunteering involves
• Helping prepare and share community meals
• Being present with people in public, informal spaces
• Learning trauma-aware and low-demand approaches
• Working as part of a calm, supported team
• Reflecting together on what we notice and learn
This is not saviour work.
It’s practice — careful, relational, and shared.
If you’re curious about how to help well, you’re in the right place.
If you’re interested in volunteering, start with a conversation. We can talk about what’s involved and whether it’s a good fit.
