We support people to start and participate in small projects that bring people together, meet practical needs, and create opportunities for kindness, connection, and community-led change.

Food Support

If you need food, you’re welcome here. We connect people with simple, local food support and shared meals — no forms, no judgement, just reach out and we’ll help you access what’s available or let you know when the next food share is happening.

Small projects. Real people. Meaningful impact.

I work with people to bring small, practical projects to life — the kind that meet real needs in our local community.

Not big ideas that sit on paper.
Not polished programs that never reach the street.
But simple, shared efforts that make a difference straight away.

What this is about

This work is built on a simple conviction:

If something good can be done — especially where people are going without — then we should act.

Not big systems. Not distant help.
Just people showing up and doing something useful together.

What are some small projects

📦PETE’S PACKS

Small Boxes. Big Impact. Bringing essentials and comfort to our local night shelters.

What started as a simple idea has grown into a direct, hands-on way to support our community. Pete packs up boxes filled with high-quality, practical products and delivers them straight to the local night shelter to give away to those who need them most. It’s all about grassroots care, one delivery at a time.

🎶 MENTALLY HEALTHY AS ANYTHING

Music, community and opportunity built through a community rock band.

What started as Douggie’s idea for a rock band at a psychosocial rehabilitation centre became a project that engaged an entire community. Together with staff, members and volunteers, we secured funding, completed training, rehearsed, performed publicly and won an award. More importantly, the project created connection, confidence and belonging for people who may otherwise have remained on the sidelines.

How I work

I don’t run large programs.

I start with people who are willing.

  • A conversation becomes an idea
  • An idea becomes a small project
  • A small project becomes community action

If it helps someone and it can be done simply — we start there.

What’s happening right now

  • Food recovery + street outreach (Hobart)
  • Weekly shared meals
  • Small woodcraft builds & experiments, and public woodcarving
  • Community singing gatherings

This changes week to week — it’s shaped by people, not programs.

Want to get involved?

You don’t need experience.
You don’t need a role.
You just need willingness.

If you want to:

  • share food
  • build something with your hands
  • sing with others
  • or start something small in your area

Profiles

Here are some people who completed small projects.

Here are three platforms for small projects—creating opportunities for people to connect, contribute, learn new skills and turn simple ideas into meaningful community action.

We start small. We show up consistently. And over time, community forms.

CREATE BELONGING

We create spaces where people can gather, join, and feel at home.

Through music, shared meals, and facilitated conversations, we help turn strangers into community — gently, safely, and without pressure.

This work happens slowly, relationally, and alongside others.

BUILD SOMETHING SMALL THAT MATTERS

Not everything needs to scale to be valuable.

I support people to build small, meaningful projects — creative, practical, and dignified — that offer purpose, contribution, and connection.

TELL THE STORY

Stories matter — especially the ones shaped by lived experience.

I work with individuals and communities. We honor real stories and consider their meaning. We give language to what has been lived, not just observed.

These are different expressions of the same work — helping people belong.
