What I Do

Welcome to Microenterprise Builder. This is about my project building microenterprises for people locked out of the system. I’m excited to introduce a new initiative that combines my passion for arts and crafts, business and community development. Join these business owners, and me on this journey as we build a better future, one micro-enterprise at a time!

Mission Statement

The goal is to empower people to become entrepreneurs, fostering independence, confidence, and financial stability. Join in breaking down barriers and building a more inclusive economy, one art/craft business at a time! Or, moving from no job to a job!

About Me

My project is dedicated to supporting people locked out of the system in building their own microenterprises, starting with art or craft businesses, or supporting them in a suitable job. I believe that everyone deserves to work or have an opportunity to turn their passions into a career, regardless of the market value of their abilities.

Through the program, participants will receive guidance, resources, and support to:

  • Develop their skills and create unique products
  • Build a brand and market their business
  • Access mentorship and networking opportunities

Success Stories

At Microenterprise Builder, we’re proud of the impact our work has on people’s lives. Here’s one story that inspires us:

Success Story

Eamonn’s Story

Eamonn, a talented street artist, struggled to make ends meet. Despite his creativity, he lacked the business skills to turn his passion into a sustainable income. That’s where I came in.

With my support, Eamonn received training in entrepreneurship, marketing, and financial management. He also gained access to resources like mentorship, networking opportunities, and small funding.

Fast forward six months, Eamonn’s art business is thriving! He’s selling his work online. Eamonn’s success has not only improved his financial stability but also boosted his confidence.

“I never thought I could make a living from my art,” Eamonn says. “Microenterprise Builder believed in me and gave me the tools to succeed. Now, I’m living my dream!”

Key Outcomes:

  • Established a side income
  • Established loyal customer base
  • Created a sustainable business model
  • Gained confidence and self-sufficiency

Eamonn’s story demonstrates the power of microenterprise development. With the right support, anyone can turn their passion into a successful business. Stay tuned for more success stories!

With our guidance, entrepreneurs like Ned have transformed their passions into thriving businesses, creating jobs and stimulating local economies. Here’s another story that inspires us:

Success Story

Magistrates Court Hobart

Ned’s Transformation

When we first met Ned, he was homeless due to a relationship breakdown. Despite holding a PhD in Law, he was struggling to get back on his feet. With our support, Ned’s life took a dramatic turn.

We encouraged Ned to leverage his legal expertise and passion for social justice. He began attending courts daily, and representing himself in front of the magistrate. We introduced him to the anti-discrimination tribunal, which he used to advocate for marginalised communities and himself.

Ned also founded “The Food Van,” a recycled food collection and delivery service that supported numerous organisations and individuals in need. He employed several volunteers, including Stoner, who dedicated himself to the cause.

Through our organisation, Food Not Bombs Hobart, we provided Ned with the stability and resources he needed to pursue his legal pursuits. In return, Ned used his legal expertise to make street sites safer, enabling more charity communities to flourish.

Key Outcomes:

  • Transformed from homelessness to becoming a leader in social justice
  • Established a successful food collection and delivery service
  • Employed and empowered several volunteers
  • Leveraged legal expertise to create safer community spaces
  • Continued to support and stabilise Food Not Bombs Hobart

Ned’s story showcases the power of support, leverage, and determination. From homelessness to becoming a force for positive change, Ned’s journey inspires us to continue empowering individuals to create lasting impact.
